A New Installation, What to know?
How do you make sure that the person you hire is qualified to do the job? Here are some handy guidelines to follow when choosing a contractor:
CALL BEFORE YOU DIG, Ensure the contractor calls for Locates such as Gas, Hydro, Cable, and Water. A Reliable contractor will do this for you.
A Sprinkler system Is made up of two vital components: A water source and an electrical source for the timer. Make sure you ask how will the water source be retrofitted or newly installed and where will the timer be located?
Water pressure isn't everything. yes, you need good water pressure but more importantly make sure the contractor identifies GPM, Gallons Per Minute. GPM is the key to a successful design.
Based on the GPM the sprinkler system will be divided up into Zones.
A sprinkler system is made up of many components such as Pipe, Rotors, sprays, Valves, a controller, and a Rain sensor, along with many other parts and fittings. Make sure you ask what Brand the contractor uses.
Watch out for: When choosing a contractor, you should be wary of those who offer to charge you significantly less than others. Low bidders may not be licensed or insured and may often use cost-cutting parts and techniques that can jeopardize your lawn and shorten the life of your system.
Confidence Counts
Above all, you should choose a contractor you feel you can trust, a contractor who installs professional series products, parts, and components.
