A New Installation, What to know?

How do you make sure that the person you hire is qualified to do the job? Here are some handy guidelines to follow when choosing a contractor:

CALL BEFORE YOU DIG, Ensure the contractor calls for Locates such as Gas, Hydro, Cable, and Water. A Reliable contractor will do this for you.

A Sprinkler system Is made up of two vital components: A water source and an electrical source for the timer.  Make sure you ask how will the water source be retrofitted or newly installed and where will the timer be located?

Water pressure isn't everything. yes, you need good water pressure but more importantly make sure the contractor identifies GPM, Gallons Per Minute. GPM is the key to a successful design.

Based on the GPM the sprinkler system will be divided up into Zones.

A sprinkler system is made up of many components such as Pipe, Rotors, sprays, Valves, a controller, and a Rain sensor, along with many other parts and fittings. Make sure you ask what Brand the contractor uses.

Watch out for: When choosing a contractor, you should be wary of those who offer to charge you significantly less than others. Low bidders may not be licensed or insured and may often use cost-cutting parts and techniques that can jeopardize your lawn and shorten the life of your system.

Confidence Counts

Above all, you should choose a contractor you feel you can trust, a contractor who installs professional series products, parts, and components.

Spring Start Ups.

Admiral Irrigation will do a complete and thorough walkthrough check to ensure the system is running with ease and efficiency. A Spring start-up will include:

  1. Opening the system's main water valve slowly to allow pipes to fill with water gradually.

  2. Check the controller. Check the settings, Replace the controller back-up battery if necessary.

  3. Walkthrough each zone, checking for proper operation. Check for proper operating pressure, proper rotation and adjustment of sprinkler heads, and adequate coverage.

  4. Check for obstructions, remove dirt and debris around each sprinkler head

  5. Check for wear & tear, replace any broken or worn nozzles, heads, valves, pipes, and other components.

  6. Check the water pressure to make sure it is within the proper operating range.
